This Swiss-based trio Helen Davey on voice and piano, David Aebli on double bass, bouzouki, guitar, mandolin and Ferdi Rauber on tabla, udu, percussion and didjeridoo. They present Carvings, a collection of original songs and stories that explores the themes of how life leaves it's tracings on us, linking us with others, sculpting and carving who we are. Included in the concert will be "sound-paintings": unique interactive improvisations performed in response to something volunteered by the audience.

Celebrate the opening of the Cecil Beaton exhibition with this exploration of the English garden in word and music. Christina Hindhaugh reads a selection of poetry by Donne, Milton, Shakespeare, Browning, Keats, Wordsworth and others, and Sally Mellors plays pieces by Brahms, Debussy, Betthoven and more. Join the performers at the end for a glass of champagne.

A trio consisting of Julie Sargeant on piano, Zoe Wallace on cello and soprano Karen Fitz-Gibbon perform music by the highly-acclaimed contemporary American composer Jeremy Beck. His lyrical Cello sonata no 3, Moon, is followed by Black Water, an intense piece based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, which charts the thoughts and memories of a young girl who is trapped in a car that has been driven into a river. This program is not suitable for young children. Presented by CoOpera and the Art gallery of Ballarat.

The first of the Last Sunday of the Month concerts presented by the Gallery Women's Association features the ensemble Westwind. Singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Geoffrey d'Ombrain is joined by Heather George on clarinet, Alison Robertson on flute and Kathryn Saunders on oboe. The concert includes a new work in three movements by d'Ombrain, A Tribute to Victorian Flora.
