Australian Landscapes: Eugene von Guerard in the Antipodes

In 1867 notable colonial artist Eugène von Guérard's published Australian landscapes, a series of 24 tinted lithographs which illustrated some of the most striking landscapes of South Eastern Australia.

The Art Gallery of Ballarat has long had the set of prints in a bound volume and has been buying the individual prints so they can be displayed together. The last two prints have just been bought allowing visitors to admire von Guerard's meticulously recorded views of a range of environments from seascapes to mountains in one stunning display.
