This exhibition is made up of works acquired in the past twelve
months, by donation, through various bequest and philanthropic
funds and in some cases by direct purchase from the Gallery
Association's tied funds for acquisitions.
The collecting focus for the Art Gallery of Ballarat is very
broad within the categories of Australian painting, sculpture,
drawing and print-making, across all periods from the early
colonial to the present day. There is an additional focus on
Australian ceramics. The Gallery does not merely seek to
"fill in gaps" of work by previously unrepresented artists, but
also attempts to show some artists across the breadth of their
careers and their working methods.
Artist in this exhibition included; Rick Amor, Rupert Bunny,
Penny Byrne, James Cant, Rah Fizelle, David Pottinger, Angeline
Pwerle Ngala, and Avital Sheffer.
