This exhibition presents 50 works from the 45-year career of
photographer and film-maker Roger Donaldson.
Born in Ballarat in 1945 and trained in his hometown as a
geologist, Donaldson moved to New Zealand in the mid 1960s where he
took up photography, working in advertising and
photojournalism.
By the 1970's he had started to direct television commercials
and this was to lead inexorably to the directing of documentaries
and then feature films. Donaldson, who since the 1980s has lived
mainly in the United States of America, is probably best known for
his films Smash Palace, The World's Fastest Indian and
The Bank Job.
