YoungArts and Education

The Gallery offers YoungArts, which aims to offer young people a range of  programs, including education activities that are designed for kindergarten, primary, secondary and tertiary students, educators, community and youth groups.

The annual NextGen exhibition which displays work by VCE Art and Design students, is a specfic focus on students' work but the Gallery works through to year to encourage to use and enjoy their gallery.

The YoungArts Education program, based on both the Gallery's permanent collection and the changing exhibitions, addresses current government curriculum initiatives and can be tailored to suit the requirements of schools groups. A highlight is the 4 Elements In Art education program which includes a trail, tours and workshops based on environmental sustainability.

After School and Holiday programs are available for different age groups and include drawing, painting and sculpture workshops. Specific programs vary from term to term.

In addition to the YoungArts program, the Gallery offers regular life and portrait drawing classes whiuch are suitable for nboth beginners and experienced artists.
