Adopt an Artwork
The Art Gallery of Ballarat and its Collection are cultural
treasures of national significance. We need your help us to make
sure they are well cared for into the future.
The Gallery has a wonderful collection which has been built up
by donations, bequests and purchases since the Gallery was founded
in 1885.
Works of art are fragile and easily damaged. In order for us to
prevent further deterioration and to make the best use of our
wonderful collection, it is essential that these works are expertly
conserved and made available for public display.
If you are interested in adopting an artwork, we invite you to
explore the many works displayed the works for adoption page. When
you have found an artwork you would like to adopt, simply contact
us and we will happily show you the work and discuss its
conservation requirements.
There are a range of benefits available for different levels of
donation. Talk to the gallery staff or go to our website for the
full Adopt an Artwork kit which details the donations benefits.
Artworks can be adopted by individuals, corporations,
philanthropic trusts and foundations, and also by groups of
individuals contributing towards a group adoption. If adopting an
artwork is beyond your budget, why not get together with some
friends and adopt it together?
Donations are tax deductible and are receipted.
