clay, underglaze and earthenware glaze

Award for Excellence 2026

Judges comments:

'A deeply responsible artwork that carries historical weight without spectacle and holds complexity without resolution. It is exemplary in its ethical and artistic rigor. Technically, the glazing is outstanding. Lapinski-Cox's vessel appears to melt and collapse, embodying the instability of memory, while enduring clay speaks to resilience and survival. Traditional Polish motifs and distorted Stars of David are integrated with care and restraint, ensuring the work remains thoughtful rather than illustrative. A sophisticated work.'

Award for Creativity 2026

Judges comments:

'This is a dynamic and highly personal photographic series shaped by nostalgia, digital saturation, memory, and identity. Crossley’s voice is distinctive and captures a generational experience with confidence and clarity. Its strength lies in its accumulation: each image builds upon the next to form a vibrant, immersive world that feels intimate and culturally resonant. This is creativity driven by risk, self-awareness, and a strong sense of authorship.'

Award for Innovation 2026

Judges comments:

'Using extended shutter speeds, Nash captures moments of transition rather than performance, reframing dance as a space of vulnerability, discipline, and anticipation. The images dissolve clarity and motion, creating a visual language that challenges traditional representations of perfection and control. The innovation of this work lies not only in its technical execution, but in how that technique invites the viewer to linger in moments that are usually unseen using the power of the gaze. The series is quietly radical in its approach.'
